Janto: Jack touches Ianto in public. Ianto is happy another man thinks he and Jack are a couple. Ianto and Jack tease each other about stern matters. They talk like twins. Gwen calls them a couple. Ianto points that out to Jack. Jack is not amused and runs off. Ianto agrees with him but looks sad. When Jack says English is the dominant language Ianto corrects him. Jack looks baffled. Ianto sits with Jack. Jack says they need a child to break the case. Ianto doesn't know where to get a child. Jack leaves. Ianto asks where he is going. Jack quips, 'Now who's a couple?' Ianto looks sad again. Then he goes to his sister who has children. Tries to take her children outside but is denied. Outs himself to his sister. Hugs Jack to comfort him because he died again. The next minute Ianto must leave Jack because he has a bomb inside his stomach. Ianto doesn't want to go. He argues and fights Jack's grip. Jack bundles him onto the lift anyway then kisses him intensely. He hits buttons. The lift rises with Ianto. Jack and Ianto keep eye contact all the way up. And then the bomb goes off.
Best Quote:
Ianto: "There's a bomb inside your stomach."

Best Dialogs:
Ianto: "He thought we were together. Like a couple. He said, 'You two'. The way he said it, huh. 'You two'."
Jack: "Well, we are. Does it matter?"
Ianto: "Don't know. It's all a bit new to me, that's all."

Ianto: "You are going to get us killed!"
Jack: "No, you get killed, not me. You die like a dog, like an ugly dog!" (Ouch! That hurts every time!)

Jack: "Persistent."
Ianto: "Good sign."
Jack: "Dogmatic."
Ianto: "Always a plus."
Gwen: "Oh, Christ, never work with a couple, you two talk like twins!"

Ianto: "She's calling us a couple now."
Jack: "What's your problem?"
Ianto: "Just saying."
Jack: "I hate the word 'couple'."
Ianto: "Me too."

Jack: "We need a child. Cause we need to test those frequencies. Find the right frequency and we can find out who's transmitting."
Ianto: "Where do you get a child, though? I could find you Lasers and Weevils, hitchhikers. But kids..."
Jack: "See you later."
Ianto: "Where are you going?"
Jack: "Now who's a couple?"

Rhiannon: "Susan on the corner was in town and it was their anniversary. So they went to that posh French place in town,
by the memorial. And there was you."
Ianto: "So..."
Rhiannon: "There was you, having dinner with a man."
Ianto: "So?"
Rhiannon: "Having dinner with a man, in a restaurant."
Ianto: "So? You have dinner with Tina."
Rhiannon: "Not in town. Susan said he was gorgeous. Like a film star. Like an escort."
Ianto: "He's my boss."
Rhiannon: "Well, she said it was intimate. I said, 'Well, he's had girlfriends'. And she said,
'Well, no girl was getting her feet round that table. No chance.' Have you gone bender?"
Ianto: "Mica's hearing this."
Rhiannon: "She's not bothered. Her friend Sian's got two mothers." - "Go on." - "You never tell me anything these days.
Dad died, that was it. You were off, you couldn't wait. Like I did something wrong. I didn't, did I?"
Ianto: "It's not that. It's my job. It's difficult. It's... He is very handsome."
Rhiannon: "No!"
Ianto: "Now stop it."
Rhiannon: "You're kidding me! Really, though? Really..." - "Christ almighty! He's nice, though, is he?"
- "Is he? Oh, my... I mean, since when?"
Ianto: "It's weird. It's just different. It's not... men. It's... it’s just him. It's only him. And I don't even know
what it is, really, so... So no broadcasting it."
Rhiannon: "Oh, no, honest. I won't say. If you want it kept quiet... I swear, I won't say a word, I promise."
Johnny: "Aye aye, gay boy. She says you're taking it up the arse." - "Mica, will you get off that thing?"
Ianto: "Thanks."
Johnny: "How have you been, then, you smart bastard?"

Jack: "We need damage control at St Helen's. One body, Dr Rupesh Patanjali, shot in the back."
Ianto: "What happened?"
Jack: "I don't know. He was just left there right beside me, like someone's gloating."
Ianto: "Did they kill you?"
Jack: "Yeah."

Jack: "Ianto! We're having a baby." - "You told Rhys?"
Gwen: "I've only just found out myself."
Jack: "Oh, you told me before you told him, he is gonna love that."
Ianto: "Congratulations." - "Would now be a good time to tell you I lost the car?"
Jack: "You did what?!"

Jack: "Ianto, you're going to get locked inside." - "Ianto!"
Ianto: "We can override the mechanism."
Jack: "Then you... For God's sake, get out!"
Ianto: "There'll be nothing left of you!"
Jack: "I can survive anything." - "I'll come back, I always do."

Innuendo:
Ianto and Jack are a couple. Jack displays to a male doctor showing interest (in him or Ianto? I'm not sure)
with his body language that he and Ianto are together. If to prevent Ianto's jealousy or to make the point
that he's taken himself, well, whatever it is, it's a couple thing. Ianto is happy the male doctor thought
he and Jack are together, oblivious to the fact that Jack himself made the point to the man. Yet Jack brushes
Ianto's feelings aside as if they don't matter. Jack even made silly jokes about Ianto's demise. Possibly
because he fears he could lose Ianto someday, so Jack is not ready to call them a couple. He is not ready to commit.

Gwen knows about them having sex at the Hub. She calls them chuckle brothers and then she calls them a couple.
That startles Ianto and Jack. Ianto speaks about it, but Jack is not ready for that either and runs off.
Ianto looks hurt and unsure. Then he goes visiting his sister because Jack said they need a child. Is Ianto really
considering to take his nephew and niece to break the frequency without telling his sister what's going on and what
he plans to do? That's kind of mean, isn't it? All that to give Jack what he needs to serve the cause? Oh dear!
How much you love Jack. Ianto's bond with his family is fragile anyway and his sister complains that he never talks
to her about anything anymore. She believes he is a civil servant. So, Ianto opens up about him being with a man, even
he doesn't know what it is Jack and he have and what he should feel.

Though Ianto knows how much pain it must cost Jack to have died again and he comforts Jack with a hug. Jack accepts
his comfort hugging him back. Ianto even has no fear for his own life. He doesn't want Jack to suffer another cruel death.
He wants to stay with him and disarm the bomb, but Jack insists for him to leave. Even though Jack doesn't commit to Ianto
he shows how much he cares for Ianto and how deeply he loves him.

Look
Touch
Kiss
Fight

How many times does Jack die?
Shot. Twice. Exploded. Once.

Gwen:
"Anyone in? You two having shenanigans in the dark? Jack?"
She calls Jack and Ianto bastards for leading her right to Torchwood once.
A mysterious old man tells her she is three weeks pregnant. She confirms the pregnancy at the Hub.
Ianto confesses to her first that he had lost the car.

My Comment:
Fucking fantastic. Suspenseful. Creepy. Funny. Shippy. Everything a fan hopes for and likes to see.
And Ianto has a lot more screentime and an important moment with his family, too, which gives us insight in his feelings,
the past with his father and the relations to his family. And a touching and emotional kiss at the top, as well as a harsh
separation due to cruel circumstances. At that we are left hanging about Ianto's fate at the end. Wicked. Oh yeah.
One of the best episodes ever. I only wish the conclusion of the storyline of season three would be different. Duh!
